Britain has surveillance on the brain. The UK population is willingly one of the most surveilled on earth. ‘Freedom is Slavery’ exposes the hidden dangers of this obsession and dares to suggest that surveillance technologies are as much a cause of social problems as they are deemed to be a solution.
Freedom is Slavery is an ongoing documentary project. Milkwood produced a short trailer with a development grant from the British Documentary Film Foundation. AJ Nakasala, a young filmmaker and resident of Newham takes us through his neighbourhood, showing what life is like on his side of the surveillance fence.
